Beeswax is the all-natural, non-toxic waxy substance secreted by bees after they consume honey. Bees use this wax to construct their honeycombs, and when cleaned and filtered, it can be used for beautiful and beneficial candles.

Many people prefer beeswax candles to paraffin candles because as an all-natural product, they are more attractive to individuals who practice a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. The bees are not harmed in the production of beeswax candles.

It is the beeswax candle health benefits that attract most users, however, and those benefits can be substantial depending on the type of candle and the health of the person burning it.

Types of Beeswax Candle Health Benefits

Beeswax candles are reputed to have several health benefits, including…

          - Lower Toxicity: Because beeswax candles are all natural, they do not produce toxic byproducts and heavy soot when                   burned. Some types of candles produce minute traces of chemicals known to be carcinogenic, but this is not a problem with             beeswax candles.

         - Neutralizing Pollutants: Beeswax candles produce negative ions when burned, and those ions help to neutralize                         pollutants in the air. This helps eliminate dust, odors, and mold in the atmosphere, easing allergy and asthma symptoms                   and improving breathing for anyone nearby.

          - Relaxation: The simple act of burning a candle has relaxing properties and can aid in stress relief. The mildly sweet,                      natural honey scent of beeswax candles can aid that relaxation without being overwhelming as artificially scented candles                 can become.

          - Safety: Because beeswax candles are all natural and produce no byproducts, they are naturally dripless when used                        properly and are thus safer to burn. This avoids the risk of burns and other injuries that can result from burning other types            of candles improperly.

Light: Beeswax candles have the brightest, purest light of any candles and are closest to natural sunlight. If the candles are           to be used as a light source, this can help minimize eye strain and reduce headaches.

Using Beeswax Candles

There are many ways to burn beeswax candles to take advantage of their natural health benefits. Individuals who suffer from breathing difficulties such as asthma or allergies should consider burning only pure beeswax candles, and burning the candles for 30-60 minutes in the bedroom before sleeping can help clear the air for more restful sleep. Beeswax candles are also best to use in the kitchen where they will help neutralize odors without tainting food with artificial aromas, and they can also be used in a home office or any other area where there may be a large concentration of use and lingering odors. Beeswax candles can even be used in a nursery to clear the air for young and delicate lungs, but remember that burning candles should never be left unattended around children.

Beeswax candle health benefits are plentiful, from lower toxicity to cleaner air to better relaxation. By understanding what beeswax candles are you can easily find a beautiful, natural candle to enjoy.

Organic eggs, as well as having more flavor it also has many more nutritional properties than conventional eggs and that's because of the kind of life the free range hens live.

Organic eggs are produced by hens that are outdoors and this already makes a big difference in egg quality.

But also free range hens are able to exercise.

Eggs contain vitamin B7 or biotin which is good for healthy skin, hair and nails. It also helps people with diabetes as this vitamin helps regulate the level of blood sugar.

Also, their diet based on organic feed also makes a difference when assessing the properties of a type of egg or another.  A main objective is about getting the eggs quality and not quantity.

 1. Honey regulates blood sugar

With its balance of fructose and glucose, when honey is consumed, the fructose portion allows the glucose to be taken up by the liver to form glycogen, which becomes available to the brain, heart, kidneys and red blood cells of the blood. This improves the functioning of essential organs and tissues  eliminating glucose from the circulation and thus reducing blood sugar.

2. The consumption of natural honey reduces metabolic stress

Natural honey produces glycogen in the liver, which is the energy reserve needed by the brain for normal operation. These glycogen reserves prevent the release of stress hormones.

3. Natural honey promotes sleep recovery

Eating honey stimulates nighttime relaxation and sleep. The natural sugar in honey produces a slight secretion of insulin, which allows tryptophan to enter the brain more easily and thus allow secretion of melatonin, a vital for daily regulation of sleep-wake hormone. It is therefore very advisable to consume a spoonful of honey with a glass of warm milk before bedtime to have a restful sleep.

Melatonin also regulates heart rhythms, helps improve immunity and facilitates tissue reconstruction overnight.

4. Honey as a treatment for constipation

Honey has a high content of fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which although they have mainly  an energy function, upon reaching the colon they behave in a similar way as plant fiber: they capture water by increasing the volume of stools and cause gases that increase peristalsis or intestinal motility. Therefore exert a mild laxative effect.

5. Natural honey improves brain function

Scientific information has shown that honey naturally helps absorb and fix calcium in the body, promoting proper brain function.

6. Acne and other skin problems

As an antimicrobial agent, honey acts through various mechanisms:

Deprives microbes of the moisture they need to survive

It acts as a chelating agent, altering cellular processes that require bacterial iron.

The bees also add an enzyme called glucose oxidase. By applying honey on the wound, this enzyme causes the local release of hydrogen peroxide. This peroxide behaves similarly to popular medicine against acne, benzoyl peroxide: breaks cell walls of bacteria.

Reduces the pH of the skin surface on which it is applied. Honey has a pH between 3.2 and 4.5. This acidity is sufficient to kill most germs.

7. Minimizes allergies

Consuming honey from your local area  can reduce allergies. Honeybees carry pollen from flowers that worsen seasonal allergies, and some of this pollen is incorporated into honey. The natural honey consumed in the area before allergy season, can help the body accept without rejection and a pollen allergy can disappear.

8. Wounds, burns and ulcers

The antibacterial property of honey can prevent infection of burns or minor injuries. The density of honey protects against bacteria and dirt entering a wound. Apply honey on the cut or wound and cover with a bandage.

9. Dry skin

It has healing and soothing properties. It can be applied directly onto the rough skin, or dissolve in water and add the mixture into the bath water.

10. Dry lips

Apply a little honey on dry or chapped lips and leave for a few minutes to soften.

11. The menstrual cycle

Honey stimulates the production of fatty acid omega - 6, which regulates hormonal processes in our body.

12. Stimulates the immune system

Honey has antibacterial and antifungal properties that make it ideal for stimulating the immune system, not only when it is ingested, but also when applied topically on the skin. These properties help to keep wounds and cuts free of infection, so it is a good natural antiseptic.

Food: the key to our physical and emotional health

Did you know that virtually all our health depends on what we eat? Physically we are built by millions of cells, for them to survive they must eat; the health of these structures depend on receiving the nutrients they need to function. What you eat determines what the blood transports to the cells , either toxins or nutrients.

The key to improving our health:

First we have to avoid  "fast food", which are low in nutrients and also contain harmful substances such as artificial preservatives, sweeteners, chemical pesticides, hormones... , also we should avoid other harmful elements for our health  like refined sugar, saturated fats, refined flours... All this to have a body free of toxins.

Secondly eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, grains, seeds, nuts, sprouts, vegetables, naturally occurring liquids such as pure water, juices and some teas.

Thirdly try at least once or twice a year a program for detoxification using detoxifying juices.
